Paintings
I rarely work in paint alone, being too eager to pull in other elements, whether visual, textual, or textural. I approach my works as a journey, each with many layers. I prefer the paintings that remain simple studies of abstract composition. The weight and simplicity of them feels soothing and strong. The cartoony ones with mermaid-cats, mermaids, and blue nudes- well, I don’t feel very at home inside of them. I enjoy their “surreality”, and their playful colours, but I always feel more drawn to work out pieces that incorporate my primary tools: glue, images, - and the tiny little pink scissors.

But regardless of where I am personally most comfortable, these chunky, childlike renderings are frequently asked after, requested, or sold. Most have commented that the pure cheerfulness of these images is what draws them.
